The PxP Embassy has joined forces with Movement On The Ground to help empower and educate refugee children. This collaboration has flourished from a ground of love, compassion and likemindedness.
Who is Movement On The Ground?
Movement On The Ground is a Dutch organisation on a mission to provide a dignified, innovative and sustainable response to the refugee crisis in Europe that benefits both refugees and their host populations. Founded in 2015 by five business people and creatives, Movement On The Ground brought experience and a network in the music festival industry to help inform how emergency aid was distributed to refugees upon their arrival to the shores of Europe. With a fixed presence on the islands of Lesvos, Samos and now Athens, Movement On The Ground is helping to care for over 6,000 people on the move. The organisation believes that all people deserve to live in a safe and enabling environment and together with the communities which they support, they make this dream a reality.
This event on September 23rd aims to raise funds for unaccompanied minor refugees. Currently, there are 4,500 unaccompanied minors living in Greece, many falling outside a system of protection and in urgent need of accommodation. Movement On The Ground is stepping into this huge gap by opening three new shelters for minors aged 13 to 18 years old.
The shelters will provide a holistic set of services, covering food, psychological support, medical assistance, as well as access to sports, education and training. With your support, Movement on the Ground can create even more safe, creative and enabling learning environments. The funding will be used to purchase the necessary learning equipment and kickstart learning programs.
